Debra McKendry-Hunt graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science (Architecture) and a Bachelor of Architecture, with Honours.
Debra started her own practice, McKendry Hunt Architects, in January 2002.
McKendry Hunt Architects have won more than 20 architectural design awards since its inception in 2002 and was nominated by the MBA, winning the 2009 Master Builders Association Award for Excellence, Women in Building Recognition Award.
Debra has lectured and tutored at the University of Newcastle, School of Architecture in Design and Professional Studies, Implementation Studies, User Studies and Practice Management.
Debra was the 2013 Jury Chairperson, for the Australian Institute of Architects Newcastle Division Design Awards for all categories, both residential and commercial and is the current Chairperson, Australian Institute of Architects Newcastle Division and an Examiner with the AACA Architectural Practice Examinations NSW.
